Hi, and welcome to the Web Home of the Chesterfield Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 47. Thank you for taking an interest in the Fraternal Order of Police.
The Grand Lodge of the FOP was founded in 1915 and the goal was to build an organization locally that would foster community involvement and fraternalism among the officers of the Pittsburg Police Department. since then the organization has grown to over 330,000 members across the country.
The Chesterfield FOP Lodge 47 was founded in 1981 by Chesterfield County Police Officers seeking a way to become active in their community and to support their brothers and sisters in law enforcement. Our membership is made up of a diverse group of law enforcement officers from the greater Richmond area. Since then, our lodge has grown in numbers and in law enforcement organizations that are represented within the ranks of are membership. We are also very fortunate to have an active Auxiliary Lodge and Associate Lodge.
I have been a police officer with the Chesterfield County Police since 1986. I joined the FOP in 1987 as a regular member. I served on the Executive Board as a trustee for two years before being elected President in 2003. I also serve with the Virginia State Fraternal Order Of Police as President of the Virginia State Lodge. I am dedicated to the citizens of Chesterfield County not only as a police officer, but also as President of Chesterfield FOP Lodge 47.
Each year we hold different fund raising activities to raise money for our charitable programs. The citizens of Chesterfield continue to show their support for us by donating hard earned money to our lodge. Through those generous donations we are able to fund our Christmas with a Cop program that is held each year. In December of 2017 we took 42 Children shopping with police officers and deputy sheriffs for Christmas presents at the Chester Wal-Mart. The lodge also uses the donated money each year to help fund the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, Easter Seals, the Chesterfield County Police Foundation, Chesterfield County Police Memorial service, "Chesterfield CASA" Court Appointed Special Advocacy Program and many other charitable requests that are presented to us.
If you are interested in joining our lodge feel free to contact us through the contact information provided on this site. We are always looking for community minded individuals to join are organization. I want to again thank you for your interest in our lodge and hope you enjoyed your visit to our site.
